BBC Sport presenter Dan Walker was left red-faced on Thursday night when a couple appeared to be having sex on the beach behind him during coverage of the Olympic Games in Rio.
Despite insisting they were just “hugging” or “reading a book in a strange pose,” the 39-year-old told viewers they wouldn’t be zooming in any further.
Struggling to regain his composure, Walker quickly switched to live footage of the evening’s basketball and left viewers wondering exactly what they’d seen in the background of the BBC’s broadcast.
And it’s not the first time Walker’s Olympic coverage has been overshadowed by alternative events - earlier in the week his broadcast was overrun by a rowdy Brazilian hen-do, and a few days later he was shown up by a chap weeing in the sea.
