'Springwatch' Host Michaela Strachan Has Viewers Giggling With Badger Innuendo

'I can scratch my own badger.'

'Springwatch' host Michaela Strachan had viewers in stitches after she dropped a hilarious innuendo on the first episode of the new series of the BBC Two wildlife show.

The presenter came made an inadvertent double-entendre as she discussed badgers with co-hosts Chris Packham and Martin Hughes-Games on Monday's (30 May) show.

The trio were presenting a link following a short film about badgers, where the animals could be seen scratching themselves.

Michaela quickly proclaimed, "I can scratch my own badger," before revealing she was wearing a jumper with a badger on it.

“I’ve got a badger T-shirt on,” she said rubbing away to her chest.

As Martin raised a smirk, Chris commented: “I don’t want to see you scratching your chest!”

However, Michaela continued, "In fact, it’s something you can all do,” before realising where her comments were leading.

“Not all scratch my badger!” she added.

The exchange certainly raised a few laughs from the people of Twitter:

It is not the first time the show has had viewers tittering like children, as last year Chris got unintentionally saucy as he spoke about a particular type of bird he was going to show Michaela in a preview of the next episode.

"I'll get Michaela out of bed to show her black cock in the flesh," he said.

‘Springwatch’ launched alongside ‘Autumnwatch’ and 'Winterwatch' in 2005, and have gone on to become some of BBC Two's most popular shows.

The franchise was originally fronted by Bill Oddie, Simon King and Kate Humble, with Chris replacing Bill after he quit the series in 2009.

Martin Hughes-Games also joined in 2009, while Michaela was an addition in 2011.

‘Springwatch’ continues tonight at 8pm on BBC Two.
