Will Young has become the second contestant confirmed for this year’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The ‘Pop Idol’ winner had been teasing the news on his Twitter account on Tuesday (9 August) morning, with a string of posts leading up to the announcement.
Will’s participation was eventually confirmed on the official ‘Strictly’ Twitter page, with a short video confirming Will as the second addition to the line-up.
Speaking about his upcoming ‘Strictly’ stint, Will said: “As a fan of ‘Strictly’ for years, I have always imagined myself on the show, but the timing has not been right... until now!
“Music is my passion and the dancing I have done has always been with a microphone in hand. Now there will be no microphone or band, just me, my partner and the dance floor.
“’Strictly’ is a show with fantastic live music and has an ethos of positivity and growth. I practice these two things every day, and I will try my hardest to be the best dancer possible.”
While we can’t deny our excitement about seeing Will on the dance floor, the new announcement does pale slightly in comparison to yesterday’s (8 August) revelation.
Former Labour MP Ed Balls was the first contestant confirmed for the new series, with a tweet joking about the moment ‘Ed Balls Day’ was born breaking the news to ‘Strictly’ fans.
