A mother has praised the “love and understanding” of a restaurant waiter who fed her baby so she could eat dinner in peace.
Dallas French had come from her local children’s hospital and was trying to prepare a bottle for her daughter. Unfortunately, things didn’t go to plan.
“She was starving but [the bottle] spilled all over me and then all over the floor so I had to make another bottle,” the mother explained on the Love What Matters Facebook page.
“Our waiter (wish I knew his name) watched all that happen and had just brought our salad and bread sticks.
“He said: ‘Let me feed her and you eat.’”
The waiter fed the baby with the newly-filled bottle so French was able to eat her salad without multi-tasking.
“This melted all of us and this is what we need more of,” she wrote.
“And that milk on the floor got cleaned up after we left because he just understood.
“He didn’t even know what we had gone through that day and showed us love and understanding - not irritation that I had made a mess and my baby was screaming.”
The Facebook post was shared nearly 4,000 times in seven hours of being posted on Monday 25 July. At the time of writing there were more than 500 comments praising the act of the kind-hearted waiter.
“This just made me cry happy tears,” one comment read.
“What an awesome guy and an inspiration to us all. Employee of the month at the very least.”
