Economic hardships are taking their toll on emotional and physical health.
There can't be anything more stressful today than coping in a global economic crisis with its impact on society. People are completely stressed out by things such as their home value decreasing, credit card debt increasing, threat of being laid off from work, raising of prices on most goods and services, and so much more.
Stress has for too long had a negative impact on people but this has been worsened by the increasing economic pressures and now too many people are fast approaching breaking point.
It is now crucial that people take control of their lives and adopt habits that make them physically stronger, mentally tougher and emotionally durable. With these characteristics you would be far more able to cope with these difficult economic times.
Implementing a healthy lifestyle now would go a long way towards taking control of your life. It would provide you with the resilience you need to stand up to all the troubles you may be facing.
The World Health Organization defined health as "a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity."
As any personal development coach would, I educate my clients about the importance of exercise, nutrition together with rest and relaxation. Integrating these three components with a positive mindset leads to a well-balanced life. Today, I want to concentrate on how your mind is so important in your battle to reduce the effects of stress.
The best way to combat stressful times is to be able to call upon positive thinking. Facing the challenges of difficult circumstances with a positive attitude gives you far more chance of winning through.
I wrote an article a while back on my Healthy Lifestyles Living Blog called Change Your Attitude and Mindset to Have a Happier Life where I say:
"You need to give constant, moment-to-moment monitoring of your every thought, word, and feeling. It will involve being conscious of everything you do, of what you are choosing in the way of thoughts, words, and feelings, and aware of every action you take".
I know how difficult it is to stay positive when the world seems to be collapsing in around you. When every phone call seems to be from someone chasing money and every letter is a final demand. It's certainly not easy to stay positive when fear and uncertainty are all around us.
Fear is every where. And uncertainty is on the rise. By you staying positive doesn't mean you ignore what's happening in your life. It's all about psychology.
You need to create space for lucidity, motivation and new solutions. Up to now you've faced nothing but problems and you have so many negative thoughts swirling around inside your head that you can not find any clarity within your mind to answer anything. And that gets you no where. A positive mindset can show you the path that will lead you away from your problems.
How much more effectively will you be able to deal with life's adversities if you had a fearless attitude, willing to put it on the line and face things head on, with a belief that you will be successful? When you embrace your challenges with this positive mindset anything is possible.
How stressful is the way you think currently? Always fearing what's happening, what could go wrong and what you could lose. Has it got you the positive results you need? If not isn't it time to try something different.
Adopting the right attitude can convert a negative stress into a positive one. Hans Selye
You will be more relaxed and feel far more at peace within yourself. Your decisions will be made from a far more balanced and less stressful place, producing more positive results.
You cannot control what happens to you, but you can control your attitude toward what happens to you, and in that, you will be mastering change rather than allowing it to master you. Brian Tracy
Personal growth is key to healthy living. No body wants to stand still, or worse regress. A positive mind set makes the difference. Once you establish a positive way of thinking, no matter your current circumstances, you will grow as an individual. You will now have the ability to control your emotions, deal with your problems and enjoy life far more. You will also find solutions to your problems which you couldn't before.
A positive mindset will help you transform your life, your health and your passions. You will start waking up in the morning looking forward to the day ahead, filled with purpose. No more wasting your life away. Take control of your life right now. The way you think, how you use your mind establishes how you feel about yourself, how you see your life, and ultimately what happens to you. A positive mindset puts you in a place where you can stay strong through difficult times.
Whenever you find yourself thinking negative thoughts, it is important to stop, refocus, and replace those thoughts immediately with positive ones. Let a positive mindset give you the motivation to survive and build a better life.
