Only Way Is Essex Star Amy Childs Gets Her Own Fly-On-The-Wall TV Show

Only Way Is Solo For Amy, As Essex Star Gets Her Own Show

You can take the girl out of Essex... and plonk her in the middle of her own show.

Amy Childs, a reality TV veteran at 21, is laughing all the way to Romford today with news that Channel 5 have commissioned All About Amy, what's billed as an "intimate and revealing look" at Britain's best-loved Essex girl".

Childs took what could be construed as an enormous reality risk earlier this year, leaving the BAFTA-award winning The Only Way is Essex, to enter the Celebrity Big Brother house - where she only managed a humble fourth place.

However, this time she'll have no one toppling her crown, with her own eight-part series due to air in December. It promises to record her fortunes, or lack thereof, when she opens a beauty parlour in Essex (vajazzles, anyone?) and engages in what Channel 5 are calling "other adventures".

The Channel's director of programmes, Jeff Ford, said: "We're delighted to be following Amy as she embarks on the next, exciting stage of her life. She's one of the most talked about women in Britain and we're sure our viewers will take the bubbly bombshell to their hearts."
