Rav Wilding was evidently dismayed when his huge lovers' tiff in Richmond Park with then-girlfriend Chantelle Houghton was caught by waiting paparazzi.
It was clear that the 71 Degrees North participant was less used to having his private life served up to the waiting media than reality TV participant Houghton. The pair split at that point and Houghton is now engaged to cage fighter and fellow reality TV contestant Alex Reid, the ex-husband of Katie Price.
Now Wilding has given an interview to this week's Reveal magazine, discussing his much publicised split from Chantelle Houghton and her recent engagement to cage fighter Alex Reid, as well as details about his new girlfriend and his relationship with his co-stars. Here are some titbits:
On being apart from Chantelle at the start of the show:
"I think all of us struggled with having no communication with the outside world at all. No phones, emails, texts. Obviously, to spend all that time without any contact was really difficult."
On his reaction to Chantelle getting together with Alex Reid:
"I have heard they are a couple. And I have also heard that they've got engaged. But I wish them the best of luck. I hope it works out for them."
On staying in touch with Chantelle:
"A lot has happened and I haven't heard from her in months. But she seems happy and I hope she and Alex are happy together."
On missing Chantelle:
"I wish her well, wherever she is. I sent her a birthday card, I don't know whether she got it or not, but she didn't acknowledge it."
On his current relationship status:
"I was single for a long time, but I've just started seeing someone in the last few weeks. And she's really nice, it's going well so far."
On who this new lucky lady might be:
"I'm not telling you who it is! I don't want a public romance. I can say she's very sweet, very funny and very trustworthy, which is important to me. I really like her so let's see."
On going public with his new girlfriend:
"We've gone out to very public places, public events and we've still managed to keep it secret. That's who she is and that's who I am and that's really important to me. She's very classy and likes to keep things private. I really like the fact that this girl wants to keep it private. She doesn't want to go out and be photographed."
On his closest co-stars in 71 Degrees North:
"Brooke Kinsella, definitely. I called her my little sister and she called me her big brother. I really liked Martin Kemp, too, even though he left early because of his injury."
