The world waited with baited breath when it was reported Beyonce had gone into labour, but when no official confirmation came of a new arrival, everyone began to wonder if she really had given birth.
It now appears Beyonce is still heavily pregnant after being spotted dining in a New York restaurant on New Year's Eve with her husband Jay-Z - quashing any labour rumours.
According to website Food Republic, the pair spent the evening enjoying a slap up meal at Buttermilk Channel in Brooklyn where they were treated to a "tour de force" from chef Ryan Angulo.
The pair then headed off to Beyonce's annual family New Year party hosted by her sister Solange.
"She was definitely a pregnant lady that night," they said. "They sat side by side and had a cozy and intimate dinner. They seemed to be having a lovely time."
Beyonce was said to have looked on fine fashion form too as she feasted on fried chicken and oysters:
"She looked amazing. She wore sky-high heels. It was really impressive for an enormously pregnant woman."
Beyonce's still-pregnant state was also confirmed by Solange on Twitter in a string of celebratory New Year's updates.
After the clock had struck 12 she took to the social networking site to say how jubilant she was to be ringing in the New Year with the Knowles clan, tweeting:
"Shout out to my sister for being THE cutest pregnant woman ever!
"Shout out to bring the new years in with my whole family. Amazing."
It had been reported that Beyonce had given birth to a baby girl called Tiana-May Carter last Friday, after American website MediaTakeout.com reported that Beyonce was ready to arrive at New York's St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital.
Staff at the hospital were apparently put on alert ready for the arrival of a 'celebrity VIP'.
