Dr Who sidekick Karen Gillan has been hiding a secret heartache after revealing she split from her snapper beau last year.
The flame-haired beauty, who plays Amy Pond on the show, had been dating photographer Patrick Green for six years, but let slip during a chat with the Radio Times that their romance had been over for several months.
She has been filming a biopic in which she portrays 1960s supermodel Jean Shrimpton, who had a fling with snapper David Bailey, but the actress insists she never became her ex-boyfriend's muse.
She said: "We never really did any of that. It's quite healthy to keep certain things separate in a relationship, I think."
Karen refused to offer up any more information on the breakdown of her relationship, but one split she did address was her decision to leave the cult BBC show, insisting it was a "mutual decision" between her and boss Steven Moffat.
"Steven Moffat and I decided when the best time for Amy to go would be. I'd like to see her go out in flames of glory," she said.
Time Lord Matt Smith also broke up with his model girlfriend, Daisy Lowe last year.
