Joan Collins has dismissed claims she might be cast in Downton Abbey as "all rumour and hearsay".
The Dynasty actress said she knew nothing about rumours she would play Maggie Smith's character Violet's cousin in the ITV period drama.
The actress did admit to perhaps starting the rumour by tweeting her appreciation of the show.
She said: "I happened to say that every actor in England would like a part in Downton Abbey and for some reason or other that got picked up, as it does. I think it's a great show."
But, when pressed for details, she said no offer had been forthcoming.
She said: "I know nothing, my manager knows nothing about it, so it's all rumour and hearsay. It's a non-starter."
Joan can be seen on screen with former Dynasty co-star Stephanie Beacham in an advert for Snickers, and has also taken to Twitter to say even January dieters can enjoy the chocolate treat.
