Prince Harry Wears Diamond Jubilee Medal In The Bahamas... And Catches The Eye Of Miss Bahamas

'Prince Harry's Hot, I'd Marry Him': Miss Bahamas Falls Hook, Line And Sinker For Touring Royal

Prince Harry wore his Diamond Jubilee medal in honour of the Queen's 60-year reign for the first time in public on Sunday.

The royal chose a thanksgiving cathedral service in the Bahamas to proudly display the military tribute to his grandmother, alongside his Golden Jubilee and Afghanistan medals.

Harry - touring the Caribbean to celebrate his grandmother's milestone - was joined at the televised religious event by Bahamas' governor general Sir Arthur Foulkes and many members of the country's government, including prime minister Hubert Ingraham.

The prince's grandmother was praised by the Anglican Bishop of the Bahamas Laish Boyd in a rousing sermon to the congregation.

The senior cleric told those seated in the pews that it was the example set by the sovereign which people valued: "We can say that she has been diligent, faithful, unswerving, steadfast and sure in the executions of her duties and in her availability to all who have called upon her.

"As monarch she represents in so many ways the image of leadership, stability, continuity. A link with the past, our heritage; a link with the present, the life we now live; and a link with the future."

Harry's medals were pinned to an immaculate white military jacket, part of the tropical No 1 dress of Harry's regiment, the Household Cavalry's Blues and Royals, and worn with a light blue beret.

Thousands of men and women from the Armed Forces have been receiving the medal since Accession Day, the day the Queen succeeded to the throne, on February 6.

Members of the emergency services, prison service and others are also eligible if they have passed five years' service like the military recipients.

It was also the first time the third-in-line to the throne had worn the military outfit and his dashing appearance caught the eye of one eligible young woman: Miss Bahamas, Anastagia Pierre.

The 23-year-old national beauty pageant winner who was part of the congregation declared: "I came here to fall in love with Prince Harry. He's hot. He is single now, so would I marry him? Yes.

Miss Pierre, a model and broadcaster who recently competed in the Miss Universe competition, added: "I am fascinated by the Royal Family. I have watched every interview Princess Diana has ever done.

"There is great respect here for the Royal Family and we are hugely excited that Prince Harry has come here to see us. It is all over the television."
