She recently denied her romance with Jamie Lomas is on the rocks but Kym Marsh has now admitted her fiance's US move has put a strain on their life together.
Former Hollyoaks actor Jamie has relocated to Los Angeles in a bid to launch a career in movies and conducting a long-distance relationship is proving to be difficult for the lovebirds.
Kym wrote in her new! magazine column: "We are not on the rocks... We've never hidden the fact that things have been difficult for all of us with him being away, but he's been painted as the villain of the piece.
"The inference is that he's abandoned me and it's not like that at all. The decision for him to go to Los Angeles was a joint one and I knew how long for."
Kym added her recent life has been considerably more difficult after her beloved father suffered a heart attack scare.
She continued: "Yes, it's hard and I'm tired, and my dad being ill added to the stress, but I've got a really good network of family and friends to rely on."
The pair first started dating in 2008 and became engaged over Christmas 2009, and Kym recently revealed she hopes for an intimate fairytale wedding in 2012.
She told The People: "I've three lovely kids and a lovely little guardian angel who is looking over us. The next step will be an intimate wedding."
