A 17-year-old Norwich City fan has angered the club by leaking pictures of its new kit 12 hours before the official launch.
IT student Chris Brown, who supports the Canaries, published the images online prior to the replica's unveiling on Wednesday.
Police were called to investigate and visited Brown after he was exposed. A Norfolk Constabulary spokesman said: “We can confirm we are making inquiries into a reported electronic security breach, a 17-year-old boy is assisting us with our inquiries.”
Club chief executive David McNally stressed: "We will protect our property and, in this digital age, that means our intellectual property."
McNally has requested a report into what happened while teenager Brown has apologised to the club, after he managed to obtain the pictures from the Norwich website whilst it was being updated.
The teenager told BBC News: "I'm sorry for any offence I might have caused to the club, but I would never do anything malicious or spiteful because I do have an interest and love the football club."
His mother Trish Brown said: "He knows he's probably done wrong by taking it a bit further, but that was just excitement to show other people what he had done."
