What better way to promote cycle safety than to gather together hundreds of people in varying states of undress in busy city centres and get them to ride about a bit? Wait, don't answer that.
Still, whatever you think of it, World Naked Bike Ride day was June 9, and here are the photos that prove that yes, yes indeed, this remarkably flesh-filled event actually took place, and more than a few people were willing to get their kit off for it all over the world.

Of course, there was no obligation to remove all articles of clothing before joining in - underwear-wearers and the fully-clothed also made an appearance - but it was the chillier group of cyclists that seemed to get the most attention from nearby photographers... for some reason.
