Hugh Laurie could be about to sign up for his biggest film role yet.
Variety have reported that the House star, who left the show after eight years of playing a cranky doctor last month, is in talks to play the villain in MGM's remake of Robcop.
The British actor is lined up to play the evil boss of Omni Corp, the company which creates Robocop.
Joel Kinnaman will play the title character, a cop saved from death by being turned into a robotic police officer.
Fellow Brit Gary Oldman will play Norton, the scientist who creates Robocop and Samuel L. Jackson will co-star.
Laurie, who won two Best Actor Golden Globes for his performance as Dr House, had suggested he'd turn his attentions to music and directing when the series went off air during a candid interview in November.
However, Laurie will next be seen on the big screen in novel adaptation Mr Pip where he will play Mr Watts, the last white man left on the war-ravaged island of Bougainville, part of Papua New Guinea.
