Geri Halliwell Calls Off Romance With 'Intense' Russell Brand

Spice Girl Geri Halliwell is reportedly cooling off her affair with Russell Brand because the funnyman is just too intense for her.

The couple met up at the Olympic closing ceremony and have been spotted on a string of dates together in the capital.

But according to The Mirror newspaper, the affair is unlikely to turn into a marathon romance.

The paper says Halliwell was unimpressed when Brand turned up at her home for a cosy night in with a high-brow DVD of Alan Bennett's Talking Heads.

A source told The Mirror,"Things are already cooling off. Russell's way into very intense spiritual readings that are just too much, even for Geri. He is way too intense, full stop. He turned up with Talking Heads... it went straight over Geri's head."

The couple share a mutual love of yoga but the friend says that will not be enough to keep them together, adding, "I don't think she really fancies him, she's just enjoying the attention. It will be yoga, sex and fizz, but it won't last the distance. He's off back to LA soon and she's not planning on going with him."

The singer's fling with Brand, who divorced from pop star Katy Perry earlier this year, is believed to have lifted her spirits after a year of career disappointment.

Halliwell recorded a new album but has failed to land a deal and her reality show project was turned down by ITV2 and Sky.
