X Factor's Lucy Spraggan Thanks Fans After Leaving Show, Tulisa Speaks Of Sadness

'You'll Be Hearing From Me Again Very Soon'

The X Factor contestant Lucy Spraggan has thanked fans for their support after calling it a day on the show due to ill health.

The singer missed out on performing on last week's Halloween special and the show's producers gave her a free place in this week's round.

However, she was still not well enough to perform and despite efforts to keep her in the competition, she has decided to leave.

Spraggan decided to quit the show due to illness

Speaking about her decision to leave in a statement, Lucy said: "I am gutted not to be able to continue but I'm not well enough. To accept another free pass would not be fair on the others in the competition. I wish them all well.

"I would like to express my thanks to everyone who has supported me. There is no way that this setback will prevent me from fulfilling my ambition. You'll be hearing from me again very soon."

Her fans had contacted her through her Twitter account earlier in the week and begged her to stay on the show when rumours began to spread that she was considering leaving.

Judge Tulisa Contostavlos spoke of her sadness at Lucy's departure, and said she is hoping she can still act as a mentor for her in the future.

The departure leaves questions over whether there will be a contestant voted off this week's show, or if viewers will have the chance to bring back a past performer, like in last year's series following the departure of Frankie Cocozza.
