Neymar, regarded as the best current Brazilian footballer, has put forward his own contender for the worst penalty ever in a friendly with Colombia.
You may recall in August Red Bull Salzburg's Jonathan Soriano had a strong contender for the accolade when he appeared to actually try and miss the goal as wretchedly as he possibly could, but Neymar may have usurped him. At least Soriano didn't try that run-up and stutter.
The Brazilian's excuse for his conversion was perhaps just as bad.
"Maybe it was the grass. They said it was high. But I have nothing to feel bad."
The exhibition match ended 1-1, Neymar having scored in the 64th minute before he reached for the sky in the 81st on Wednesday.
