What a week! Especially for Catholics. And most especially for The Priest Formerly Known As Jorge Mario Bergoglio.
Yes, after what seemed like the longest-lasting papal conclave since, well, the last one, white smoke was seen rising from the Vatican chimney (narrowly avoiding a seagull in the process) and Pope Francis was elected.
And as if that wasn't exciting enough: it was also the week that Vicky Pryce and Chris Huhne went to jail, and Tesco bought the restaurant chain Giraffe. Yes, THAT exciting.
We also had a sense of déjà vu as the UK was bombarded with snow once again, and Eric Joyce was arrested for having another brawl in the House of Commons bar. Still, it's good to have these traditions, isn't it? Just like we had Mother's Day on Sunday... and Steak And Blowjob Day on Thursday. No, really. Just see the tweets below - which include one-liners and funny thoughts about all the above, and more of this week's events.
Enjoy! And dominus vobiscum.
