Katie Price Chooses Willy Wonka Theme For Secretive Wedding Blessing In Somerset (PICTURES)

Katie's Willy Wonka Wedding

Glamour model Katie Price had her wedding blessed on Friday in a Willy Wonka-themed event - at a cold and wet British seaside resort.

Katie, 34, had her quickie marriage to stripper Kieran Hayler blessed in a multi-cultural, Charlie And The Chocolate Factory-themed bash in Weston-Super-Mare, Somerset.

More than 150 guests travelled to the four star Rookery Manor at Edingworth - a hotel and spa built on a former pig farm and run by former farmer Ian Clapp.

Katie reportedly walked down the aisle in an off the hanger dress she is believed to have bought locally, shunning big designer names along with more glamorous locations.

The couple had their wedding blessed in a make-shift Indian temple created inside the hotel in front of scores of family and friends, including Michelle Heaton, Rylan Clark, members of the TOWIE cast and WAGS including Danielle Lloyd.

The brief ceremony, which involved up to 12 bridesmaids and a Gospel choir, was followed by an extravagant reception in a room which looked like something out of Willy Wonka's chocolate factory.

Tables were adorned with vases of sweets and giant multi-coloured lollipops instead of floral centre-pieces, and giant sweets were specially made to decorate the room.

The three course menu included classic Caribbean dishes in a nod to their first wedding in the Bahamas, and a vast drinks menu for guests meant the celebrations continued well into the early hours of this morning.

A lengthy fireworks display after dark and live music made up the later part of the partying.

Katie and Kieran, 25, who once stripped for a role on BBC soap EastEnders, stayed in the honeymoon suite with a four-poster bed and hot-tub, but the hotel was much more modest than Katie is used to.

One source revealed: "The whole thing has been run like a military operation. She booked it two weeks ago and the hotel has been on lock down for two days with security very tight.

"It's not the kind of thing you expect someone with her means to marry, but maybe she's tired of the extravagance and glamour and wanted something different.

"Even so, it was certainly very colourful and slightly eccentric."

It's a far cry from Katie's first marriage to Peter Andre in 2005, costing £1 million and held at Highclere Castle in Hampshire and followed by a lavish ceremony.

After four years of marriage and two children, Junior, now seven, Princess, five, the couple divorced. Katie also has another child, Harvey, ten, whose father is ex-footballer Dwight Yorke.

She later married cross-dressing cage-fighter Alex Reid after another whirlwind romance, but they split after less than a year together.
