In yet another damning blow for the Conservative party, the Labour candidate has won the division of Witney South and Central, snatching a seat from a Tory in David Cameron's own Oxfordshire constituency.
Laura Price won the seat after a surge in Ukip support, with just 10 votes more than the anti-EU party, polling 756. The outgoing Conservative candidate David Harvey came third with 697.
Miss Price told the Bicester Advertiser: "I think it does send a message to the national government when Labour can win in the heart of David Cameron's constituency."
