A project to encourage students from Cambridge University to express why they need feminism has gone viral and reached as far as Malawi and Australia.
Cambridge University Students' Union's women’s campaign asked students, lecturers and passers-by to write on a white board and complete the sentence "I need feminism because".
Susy Langsdale, CUSU's women's officer told HuffPost UK: "We decided to do it because we wanted to ensure that the vast numbers of people in Cambridge who felt that feminism was necessary to their life and who fight against sexism everyday were given the opportunity to tell the world why. It speaks for itself really as to why people feel so strongly that feminism is necessary. The response was hugely positive, with the album having been shared over 1/3 million times and people all through Cambridge messaging us to send support."
We were originally going to upload ALL the pictures, but then realised there are hundreds and hundreds.
So, we did the first couple hundred, and, if you want to check more out, head over to the society's Facebook page and, of course, make sure to tweet us your reasons too.
