Lady Gaga has confirmed the first single from her forthcoming 'ARTPOP' album is called 'Applause' and has unveiled the single's cover art.
The title of the brand new track was rumoured last week after Gaga's make-up artist Tara Savelo posted an image of what appeared to be the new artwork and captioned it 'Applause'.

The single's cover art - which was shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin- sees Lady Gaga as a pierrot complete with smeared make-up.
The unveiling of the single's artwork comes just a day after Gaga tweeted another new photograph of her sitting nude on chair made out of computer components.
The singer has also announced that fans can order 'ARTPOP', which is released on 11 November, from 19 August due to public demand.
Taking to Twitter, she wrote: "Due to public anticipation ITUNES will now offer preorder for ARTPOP album/app AUG 19 the same day you can purchase my new single 'Applause'."
Gaga will perform 'Applause' for the first time at this year's MTV Video Music Awards in New York on Sunday 25 August.
