David "Big Papi" Ortiz will not be suspended after he smashed up a phone after striking out against the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday.
Boston Red Sox hitter Ortiz was furious with home plate umpire Tim Timmons during the seventh inning of his team's 7-3 win at Camden Yards.
Angry about a pair of called strikes from earlier in the at-bat, Ortiz hollered at Timmons after waving at the sixth offering from Orioles pitcher Jairo Asencio. He then expressed his frustrations in the dugout.
"I got 17 years in the league and I don't think I deserve to be disrespected like that," Ortiz said after the game, via The Associated Press. "You want to get respect from the players, you respect the players. That was horrible. Both of the pitches, not one."
Teammate Dustin Pedroia was the bystander who evaded the debris.
