‘EastEnders’ is undergoing quite a shake-up since new producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins has treaded the soap’s boards and in the wake of news that four key characters are being axed, it’s now rumoured that Natalie Cassidy will rejoin the cast.
The Sunday People report the actress will revive the role of Sonia Fowler in the New Year after she left the show in 2007 following an impressive 13-year run.

A source told the newspaper: "Natalie has been one of the programme’s best-loved characters. They are finalising deals and she should be back in a couple of months"
The news comes just weeks after reports surfaced that Kirsty Branning (Kierston Wareing), AJ Masood (Phaldut Sharma), Carl White (Daniel Coonan) and Poppy Meadow (Rachel Bright) will all be written out in the next few months.
But while fans of the show mourn the departure of the iconic characters, they’ll also need to welcome back EastEnders alumni Barbara Windsor who is also rumoured to be making another return - after her recent visit to see son Phil in hospital.
However, she won't be managing the Queen Vic, as Danny Dyer will take on the role of pub landlord when he joins the cast.
We still think no one can say ‘Get out of my pub’ better than Peggy Mitchell!
