The Duke of Edinburgh showed he was back to his best today when he joked about a toddler being knocked off an inflatable toy.
Philip may only have recently returned to full-time public duties after almost two months convalescing from exploratory abdominal surgery, but he could not resist showing off his acerbic humour when he visited a care and accommodation centre for the elderly in Norfolk.
The Queen's consort appeared in good spirits throughout his 45-minute tour of St Michael's Care Complex in the market town of Aylsham, cracking jokes and making witty comments.

At 92, Philip was older then many of the residents but he looked sprightly, walking unaided while some of those living at the centre used wheelchairs or sticks.
When the Duke was taken to an activity class he stood in the doorway and watched as elderly women sitting in a semi-circle kicked large inflatable balls around the room at breakneck speed, and commented "This is dangerous".
Then he spotted 22-month-old Ella, whose great-grandmother Florence Crisp, 93, was part of the class, sitting on an inflatable ball and asked: "Do you get bonus points if you knock her off?"
Philip was accompanied by Elaine Stamp, manager of the residential block where the class was held. He turned to her and asked: "Health and safety people?" and she replied, jokingly: "Health and safety goes out the window."
Taking the session was activities assistant Bobbie Sauerzapf, who said: "This is gentle exercise to stimulate parts of the body that are not used too often, they really enjoy it.
"I think the Duke wanted to join in, to be honest. He looks brilliant for his age."
