A Newsnight investigation has led to a dog being awarded an MBA. The programme managed to procure the pooch the coveted business degree for an outlay of £4,500 from the American University of London (AUOL), highlighting the growing problem of bogus online qualifications.
The dog called Pete, currently a resident of Battersea Dog's Home, was awarded the qualification from AUOL after investigators drew up and one-page CV and sent off an enrolment fee. The canine was then awarded the degree straight away based on his CV and life skills alone. Pete didn’t even have to study.

In response, the AUOL said it was "not a bogus university" and defended the qualifications it awards.
