This year's 'X Factor' hasn't even finished yet, but attention has already turned to who will be on the panel in 2014, with latest reports suggesting Simon Cowell wants Cheryl Cole and Rita Ora to sit alongside him on a revamped version of the series.
According to The Sun, the music mogul not only wants Cheryl to return to the show she was so famously fired from in the US, but he is courting Rita to form a 'female dream team'.
Cheryl Cole and Rita Ora are reportedly being lined-up for 'X Factor'
A source told the paper: “Rita is at the top of his list with Cheryl. He has been a massive fan of hers for a while.
“He has offered it to her before but she didn’t think the time was right. Now the ball is very much in her court.
“Simon is planning a huge shake-up next year, as it’s highly likely he’ll be back. Rita and Cheryl would be his dream team.”
Gary Barlow recently announced his intention to leave the show, and Simon is expected to return amid rumours 'X Factor USA' could be axed due to low ratings.
Sharon Osbourne has always said her comeback was for one series only, leaving a seat vacant for Cheryl. However, The Sun adds Nicole Scherzinger would be fired to make way for Rita, while Louis Walsh would retain his role - despite previously saying he was quitting at the end of the current series.
Rita proved popular with show bosses during a guest judging stint in 2012, and previously admitted she had been offered a permanent role, but turned it down.
Rita served as a guest judge last year
"There were talks. But if I were to take on that role it would have to be at a point when I could give it my full attention," she said at the time.
"I have so much to accomplish first and it's kind of a full-time job being on 'X Factor'. It's not like a nine to five. It's constant, for months.
"I love it but if I was to take on a full-time role it would be at a point when I'm loads of albums in."
However, these latest reports linking Rita to the show contradict other's published by The Sun claiming Dannii Minogue would return to her judging role, which she left in 2010.
So who WILL be on the panel? Until ITV announce it officially, it's anyone's guess.
