'Family Guy' fans have been left shocked after one of the show’s most beloved characters, Brian Griffin was killed off.
The family pet - who was one of the main characters in the long-running TV animated show - meets his end after getting run over by a car in the episode, 'Life Of Brian'.

Brian was quickly replaced by a new dog, Vinnie, voiced by Tony Sirico of 'The Sopranos' but fans of the show have already set up a petition aimed at resurrecting the character.
But it looks like their efforts will prove to be fruitless after the show's makers confirmed Brian's departure will be permanent, tweeting: "RIP Brian. #familyguy."
