'National Television Awards' winner Julie Hesmondhalgh has admitted she was 'overwhelmed' by the response to her 'Coronation Street' character, Hayley Cropper's final scenes that aired earlier this week.
During a backstage interview at Wednesday night's bash, the actress - who won the Best Serial Drama Performance gong - said it was 'a privilege' to tell the story of Hayley's suicide after being diagnosed with terminal cancer.

"What I feel from people's reactions, is that in some way we've reflected something of what it's like to love somebody and to lose them," she said.
