Flooding has affected the majority of the country in recent weeks, but mainly in the west country. The torrential rainfall is now affecting the River Thames after finally bursting its banks in parts of Berkshire.

But it's not the first time it has happened, in 1928 14 people lost their lives in London during two days of relentless rain as water from the burst banks of the Thames in made its way inland.

With their bulldog grit and determination, residents pulled together and tried to carry on their lives as normal, much like those suffering in today's floods.
