Tom Daley has revealed that filming his new reality show allowed him to feel like a “normal” teenager.
The 19-year-old has been in the public eye for quite some tiems thanks to his diving career, but touring the world as part of ‘Tom Daley Goes Global’ gave him a sense of anonymity and helped him feel more like everyone else his age.

"Normally when I go abroad I only see the pool and my hotel. I want to be a normal teenager who spreads their wings and explores different countries and cultures.”
We’re not sure how many “normal” teenagers get to have adventures in Thailand, Australia and Morocco all in the space of one summer, Tom, but we’ll let you off.
As part of his travels, Tom was given an extreme challenge to undertake in each of his destinations to raise money for The Brain Tumour Charity. The organisation is close to his heart, as he lost his father to a brain tumour when Tom was just 17.
It’s been previously reported that ITV producers were so impressed with Tom during his world travels that they’re hoping to sign him up for the next series of ‘I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here’.
He was also in the news last week after confirming on ‘Celebrity Juice’ that he was a “gay man”, months after announcing that he was in a relationship with a man - later revealed to be screenwriter Dustin Lance Black - on his YouTube page.
'Tom Daley Goes Global' airs on Thursday 10 April at 9pm on ITV2.
