Religious Filipinos have re-enacted the crucifixion of Jesus as part of festivities to mark Good Friday.

Catholics in San Pedro Cutud village, Pampanga province, northern Philippines, had two-inch nails hammered through their the hands as they were nailed onto crosses.

Church leaders, along with health officials, have spoken against the practice. However the tradition continues each year and manages to draw huge crowds.
