Michelle Collins For 'Strictly Come Dancing' Following 'Coronation Street' Exit?

Michelle Collins For 'Strictly'?

Michelle Collins is the latest star rumoured to be stepping onto the dancefloor for the next series of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.

The soap actress, who left ‘Coronation Street’ in April after three years of playing pub landlady Stella Price, has reportedly been approached by producers to get on her dancing shoes for the forthcoming series of the BBC show.

“For Michelle, Strictly also has the bonus that it is London-based.

“She left Corrie because she wanted to be in London with her daughter. So the last thing she would want is another job that would take her away again. Strictly would guarantee her three months in London.”

The newspaper’s source added that an appearance on ‘Strictly’ would help raise her profile, after the star complained towards the end of her time on ‘Coronation Street’ that her character wasn’t getting enough screen time.

Michelle isn't the only 'Corrie' star to have been linked to an appearance on 'Strictly', as Helen Flanagan has expressed interest in appearing in the dancing show in the past, while Michelle Keegan has recently denied rumours that she will be among the contestants on this year’s series.

Meanwhile, the next series of ‘Strictly’ will be the first without Bruce Forsyth at the helm, with Claudia Winkleman the current favourite to co-present the show alongside returning host Tess Daly.
