‘Coronation Street’ fans don’t have long to wait before the much-awaited exit of Michelle Keegan’s character Tina McIntyre, but the soap will be shown at 9pm for the actress's final week as it coincides with the live semi-finals of ‘Britain’s Got Talent’.
As the audition stage of this year’s ‘BGT’ draws to a close, the acts progressing to the semi-finals will battle it out in live shows airing nightly starting on Monday May 26, meaning ‘Corrie’ will be on at 9pm.
Michelle Keegan as Tina McIntyre
The soap will be airing every night from Monday to Thursday that week as Michelle’s time on the cobbles draws to a close, with her character meeting her demise in a grisly ‘whodunit’ storyline.
However, viewers worried that the show moving to a later timeslot means Tina’s murder may be more graphic than unusual needn’t worry, as Digital Spy report the show’s 9pm airtime is purely a scheduling issue rather than anything to do with unsuitable content.
It was reported last year that Michelle was leaving ‘Coronation Street’ and that her character was being killed off, though it’s still not yet known which Weatherfield resident will be committing the murder.
The 'Britain's Got Talent' judges
Meanwhile, the only acts definitely performing in the ‘BGT’ live semi-finals are the four acts who’ve received the golden buzzer, automatically putting them through to that stage of the competition.
Salsa dancers Paddy and Nico were the first act to receive the golden buzzer, while Christian Spridon, REAformed and youngsters Bars And Melody received the fast pass in later shows after they impressed the judges with their performances.
It wasn’t all smooth-sailing, though, as David Walliams received a huge Twitter backlash when he chose to over-rule the other judges and send Christian through to the next stage of the competition after his performance of ‘Sex Bomb’.
