Usually the process of getting a tattoo involves chatting to your tattoo artist about the design, they go away and spend a couple of hours drawing it, and then when the time comes, it is stencilled on your skin ready for the buzzing of needles.
But one man has blown a big fat raspberry at the normal process. So advanced are his tattoo skills that he doesn't even need a design and just tattoos freehand on the person's skin.
To get a tattoo by Jay Freestyle, the South African tattooist in question, you'll have to travel to Amsterdam. But it's worth the hike - his designs literally look like works of art.
What's even more astonishing is that he is self-taught. His motto, reported the Mail Online reads: 'Give me a piece of your skin and I’ll give you a piece of my soul'.
He's incredibly knowledgeable about colours, shading, perspective and placement - all the properties essential for producing a painting - which prompts most of his customers to trust him completely, even if they already had a design planned.
"Usually from the first couple of minutes of talking to someone, I can see if they want 'my style' or if they want me to do something realistic or traditional."

As for what his style is, he describes it as a 'watercolour'.
"I prefer to combine various styles, such as geometrical shapes and pointillism, while at the same time mixing realism with abstract, but at the end it all depends on the client."
