Tulisa Contostavlos Assault Trial: Case Adjourned Until July For More Witnesses To Be Questioned

Tulisa's Court Case Adjourned Until July

Tulisa Contostavlos has to wait another month before finding out the outcome of her assault trial after the judge requested for more witnesses to be called.

After pleading not guilty to the charge that she assaulted celebrity blogger Savvas Morgan at last year’s V Festival, the singer will now have to wait until July to discover her fate.

Other celebrities including Alexandra Burke, Mutya Buena and ‘X Factor’ contestant Misha B were all in the VIP area when the alleged incident took place, which the blogger claims left him with a swollen eye.

During her cross-examination, Tulisa claimed she was the victim of a “vendetta” from Savvas, dismissing the incident as a “playground slanging match”, adding: “This is my life on the line.”

Meanwhile, the blogger accused Tulisa of putting her fists in the air and swinging her arms towards him before making contact with his eye, which she has denied, saying: “In fact I had my hands behind my back as I knew he was capable of inventing assault claims as he had done against Gareth in the past."

According to the prosecution, the incident occurred backstage at the festival on August 18, as Savvas was about to leave. He claims that Tulisa approached him and accused him of “stalking” her.

The case will now resume on 2 July, which will be the earliest date when a verdict could be decided.

Tulisa and her assistant Gareth Varey, who has been accused of threatening behaviour, are now both on unconditional bail.
