‘Britain's Got Talent' 2014 Final: Jon Clegg Picked As Wild Card Entry

'BGT' Final: Who Is This Year's Wild Card Entry?

Impersonator Jon Clegg has been announced as the wild card entry for this year’s ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ final.

The funnyman lost out to musical theatre band Collabro and magician Darcy Oake in the first of last week's live semi-finals, however it’s now been revealed that the judges have decided Jon will compete in Saturday’s final.

Jon has taken to Twitter to share his joy at the news, writing: “Woohoooooo !! Absolutely ecstatic to be the #BGT wildcard!!

“So many talented and awesome people in the running so I'm overwhelmed!!!”

With just three days to prepare for the final, the pressure is on and Jon has begun putting together what he hopes will be a winning act.

"I've got quite a few new impressions planned for the Final," Jon said. "But I'll be bringing out a few favourites too. I'd say the act will be 75 per cent new material.

"I'm actually working for the next few days but I'll be rehearsing to to make sure I'm 100 per cent ready. I've actually got a couple of gigs. They will give me a chance to try out some new material without giving too much away."

The impressionist has also admitted that he was surprised to find out he'd been picked.

“I'm on top of the world," he said. "I thought I was in with a chance but there were so many strong contenders for the Wild Card.

"I thought Bailey [McConell] had a good chance - he is hugely talented. Also Light Balance, Innova and Jodi [Bird]."

The live final takes place on Saturday 7 June and Jon will be up against acts including Jack Pack, Bars And Melody, and fan favourites Paddy And Nico - who nearly had to drop out of the show.
