Facebook users in the UK will now be able to choose over 70 gender options when creating or editing their Facebook profile.
The added options come some four months after being first rolled out in the US and have arrived following close discussions with UK organisations Press for Change and Gendered Intelligence.
The new options will let you choose between a custom gender and also let you choose your own pronoun whether it's male, female or neutral.
These changes would then be reflected not only on the 'about me' section of the site but also when being referred to by Facebook on birthdays or when being tagged.
Founded in 2008, Facebook's LGBTQ team have been working as part of Facebook to increase the gender options available to those on the site.
