There is set to be another huge twist in the 'EastEnders' Lucy Beale murder case in coming weeks, as Lee Carter - who returned to the Square earlier this week - makes a shock revelation that sees Jake released from prison.
While bosses are remaining tight-lipped on what the twist is, sources have stated that it will lead police to add another Walford resident to the ever-growing suspects list.
Lucy Beale, played by Hetti Bywater, was dramatically killed off earlier this year
On Friday 11 July, fans will see Lee break down and share his secret with his parents.
Despite Mick and Linda’s worries that if Lee changes his previous statement, he could be in the firing line, the youngster decides to finally tell police the mystery information.
Current suspects include Max and Lauren Branning, along with Jake who has already been arrested, however, the new shock twist will see “someone totally unexpected” become suspect number one, according to sources.
“So far, we’ve seen many twists and turns involving various characters and their alibis – but this suspect and their involvement in the case will come completely out of nowhere for everyone,’ a source told Inside Soap magazine.
“Lee can’t keep this information to himself any longer,” they added. “And from the moment he starts talking, life begins to dramatically unravel for someone else in the Square.”
