David Tennant's UK Fans Will See Him In US Broadchurch Remake - 'Gracepoint' Is Coming Here

David Tennant 'Does' American For US Broadchurch Remake

David Tennant's fans won't have to wait until the second series of 'Broadchurch' to see him in action as a world-weary detective - with a crisp American accent, to boot.

The British favourite will be appearing in the US version of the British hit series, renamed 'Gracepoint' for the American audience. And it's been confirmed that ITV will be showing the US series over here as well.

In place of his UK co-star, Olivia Colman, 'Gracepoint' audiences will see 'Breaking Bad' star Anna Gunn.

As with the phenomenon 'Broadchurch', the ten episodes of 'Gracepoint' follow the tragic death of a young boy, and the effect of this on a small, cloistered community of a seaside town. And, just as before, the police and nationwide media are drawn in, too, for this drama where everyone is a suspect. But David Tennant has confirmed to Radio Times that this series will see a different ending from the British version, so we can prepare for an extra surprise.

David is also set to reprise his role in a second series of the UK's Broadchurch, alongside co-star Olivia Colman. Olivia has won several acting awards for her role of Detective Sergeant Ellie Miller.

As with the first series, writer Chris Chibnell has sworn his cast and crew to secrecy, so there won't be any plot spoilers. The producers have also requested that media do not publish pictures of the filming, so that the new story won't be ruined for viewers when it gets an airing.
