Instead of getting annoyed at rumours she'd had her ribs removed to look slimmer, Mexican signer and actress Thalia addressed the story head-on by playing the most hilarious prank on her fans.
Earlier this week, the 42-year-old posted a video on Instagram, showing what appeared to be her surgically-removed ribs a pickle jar.
Needless to say, the internet freaked out.
Thalia accompanied the video with the words: "To all my loving Filipino fans, here is the proof, I love my famous ribs, I kept them with me all these years. And the Saga continues....."
But the next day the singer seemed to suggest the video was just one big joke, as she posted a picture of the rib-filled jar to Instagram with a red cross through it and the words "not mine".
The debacle continued when the singer posted a third time - the latest video shows Thalia chomping down on what appears to be glazed ribs with the word "gotcha" flashing on screen.
After all that, we think it's safe to say the ribs in the jar don't belong to the Latin superstar. But she certainly got the rumour mill churning.
Maybe a lesson for all those set on skinny shaming or dissecting women's bodies.
But jokes aside, surgery to have your ribs removed for cosmetic purposes does exist. And it's a troubling thought.
According to CBS News, people who want to achieve an extreme hourglass figure sometimes opt for rib removal surgery - it is "major surgery, involving hospitalisation and the risk of infection, and there's no going back once the job is done."
