Paris Couture Spring/Summer 2014: Chanel

Paris Couture Spring/Summer 2014: Chanel

When it comes to the Chanel couture runway, expectations are high. So high that we're looking to be transported to far-off destinations, all-enchanting and all-elegance. Karl Lagerfeld's Spring/Summer 2014 collection did not disappoint.

The showcase was a spectacle of sheer two-pieces, beautiful button-down jackets, cocoon-shaped crop tops with matching skirts (read: one for those with tiny, tiny waists), metallic knee pads, bumbags and very cool kicks.

Fashion trainers, this season's forever trend, were of the pastel variety with glitter embellishment and chiffon laces. There were fluoro colourways too.

Texture play and fabrication was everything you'd want from your couture: feathers, chiffon, silk, sequin and intricate applique.

The standout metallic eye makeup and the spikey, fanned hairdos brought a punk vibe into the dreamy mix too. These Chanel women are ethereal but they've got a sporty edge and their all about comfortable crazy-cool footwear.

The fleet of models included Cara Delevingne and Lagerfeld's very cute godson Hudson Koening. He stole the show in a white glittering two-piece suit. A very dapper little dude.

Take a look through this gallery to see the show in full. Man, couture week is the best.
