Walford is set to welcome a new resident later this year, when Davood Ghadami joins the ‘EastEnders’ cast as market trader Khoroush ‘Kush’ Kazemi.
Davood’s character will cause problems for Kat Moon, when he pitches up in direct competition with her on the market.
Davood as Kush
Kush won’t be a total stranger to the residents of Albert Square, though - he already knows Sonia, as he plays on her husband’s football team.
Speaking about joining the show, Davood says: "I’m so excited to be joining the cast of EastEnders as I’ve been a fan of the show for as long as I can remember.
“It’s surreal to get to work with these actors that I’ve spent so many evenings watching on television!"
Executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins has teased fans, revealing that it won’t be long before Kush finds romance.
“We’ve had Kush in our minds for a while now – a new leading man to spice up the market and set some female hearts fluttering,” he says. “And it won’t be long before he has one Walford woman firmly in his sights…"
Davood has previously starred in a number of shows, including ‘Skins’ and ‘Doctors’.
At present, Walford is still reeling from the shock murder of Lucy Beale and in a recent chat with Huff Post UK, actress Tanya Franks revealed why viewers should keep an eye on Ian.
