The fatal shooting of Michael Brown has dominated the news agenda in the United States, with witnesses saying he was shot with his hands in the air. Police claim officer Darren Wilson shot him during an altercation.

Beşiktaş supporters unfurled a banner, in English, which read "No Racism", "Don't Shoot" and "#RIPMichaelBrown", along with a silhouette of a man with his hands raised in the air.
Police and protesters put aside some of the hostility, for at least a few hours, that had filled those hours with tear gas and smoke last night.
A grand jury also could begin hearing evidence today to determine whether the officer Wilson should be charged in Mr Brown's death, said Ed Magee, spokesman for St. Louis County's prosecuting attorney.
