‘Coronation Street’ actress Jennie McAlpine - who plays Fiz in the ITV series - has spilled the beans about her soap mum Wendi Peters’ return to the cobbles.
It’s now been four years since ‘Corrie’ viewers saw Cilla Battersby-Brown leave Weatherfield far behind and jet off for sunny Las Vegas, but with her return to the soap looming, it sounds like Vegas mightn’t have been the happy ending she was hoping for.

Jennie told ‘This Morning’ presenters Amanda Holden and Phillip Schofield on Tuesday: “She comes back from somewhere slightly less glamorous.
“First of all she just turns up. We've not heard from her, she's never met her grandchildren, we weren't expecting her, we don't know why she's turned up.”

When Fiz and her brother Chesney, played by Sam Aston, are reunited with their mother, Jennie has revealed that fans of the show might be surprised to see a softer side to Cilla.
She added: “She's very loving - or appears to be very loving. She wants to meet the grandkids and wants to spend time with them.
“It's been lovely because we've had some really nice, sensitive scenes.”
However, sadly for Fiz - and the rest of the residents of ‘Coronation Street’ - it would appear that Cilla’s nice streak is short-lived, with Jennie revealing: “There are rows. I can tell you that there's definitely rows with Chesney. In fact, in a scene we did last week, Chesney went quite crazy at her!”
It was previously reported that Cilla’s comeback storyline would allow Jennie to go on maternity leave, with the actress having announced that she and her partner Chris Farr were expecting their first child together earlier this year.
'Corrie' fans can look catch Cilla back on the scene later this month.
