Meanwhile Kate Thornton, Sarah Millican and Jenny Eclair - who all spent time on the ‘Loose Women’ panel with Lynda - are among the other devastated celebrities to have publicly paid tribute to Lynda, who had been battling terminal cancer before her death on Sunday night.

So sad to hear Lynda Bellingham has died. What a great woman. Smart and spirited.

Nadia Sawalha, a current 'Loose Women' panelist, appeared on 'Lorraine' on Monday, where she admitted she was “heartbroken” about Lynda’s death, especially as she had been determined to spend one last Christmas with her family.

Speaking to Lorraine Kelly on Monday morning, Nadia said: “Anyone that knew Lynda and knew her well, she was this absolute live-wire, she would come into a room and light the place up. Everybody loved her.

“She got me my first job on the Oxo ads, actually, I played her son’s girlfriend.

“She loved it, she had none of that pretence. She’d go, ‘Darling, the adoration, I adore it! The audience!’ That was her, she had no shame in that. She was a brilliant actress.”

Lynda’s agent confirmed the sad news of her death on Monday, saying: “Lynda died peacefully in her husband's arms yesterday at a London hospital.

“Actor, writer and presenter - to the end Lynda was a consummate professional.”
