Gemma Collins is reportedly about to leave ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ behind in a bid to launch herself as a TV personality and follow in the footsteps of “her hero”, Oprah Winfrey.
For the past three years, fans of the ITV docusoap have laughed and cried along with GC, Brentwood’s very own Queen of kaftans, through her trials and tribulations, but it’s now claimed that she’s planning to pack up and take her “candy” elsewhere.
A source told The Sun: “Gemma feels she’s done her time on ‘TOWIE’ and is keen to try new things. She believes her profile is high enough to jump ship and go it alone.”

‘Keen to try new things’, just weeks before the beginning of a new series of ‘I’m A Celebrity’, is it, Gemma? And she’s already been rumoured to be headed to the jungle. Very interesting…
The newspaper are even claiming that Gemma - who, let’s face it, has never been backwards about coming forwards when she was something to say (or to shout) - is hoping that branching out on her own will be her first step in landing her own Oprah-esque talk show.
The source added: “There’s even talk she could have her own show with Lime Pictures, who make ‘TOWIE’.”
During her time on the docusoap, which recently found a new home on ITVBe, Gemma has been involved in some big storylines, including her on-off relationship with James “Arg” Argent and her tumultuous friendship with Bobby Norris.
