Australia is currently experiencing a heat wave, with temperatures reaching 45 degrees on Sunday, the hottest November day on record since 1968.

As a consequence, ‘I’m A Celeb’ bosses are having to pay extra attention to the campmates, who are already feeling the strain after just one day in the jungle.

Conditions in the 'I'm A Celeb' jungle are reportedly pushing the celebs to the limit

“The camp has had the worst possible start with freak high temperatures. It has made everyone tired and weak, it is pretty unbearable. We had to take special action to make sure no one got sunstroke which could have seen them pull out of the show.”

Things got off to a shaky start for one campmate in particular during Sunday night’s launch, after ‘TOWIE’ star Gemma Collins was reduced to a nervous wreck on her way into the outback.

Gemma has already threatened to quit the series, after breaking down into hysterical tears in the helicopter that took her to camp.

Luckily for her, she was spared from the first Bushtucker Trial of the series, which saw former motorbike racer Carl Fogarty take on a pipe full of snakes for a full 12 minutes.
