Gemma Collins Returns To 'TOWIE' For Christmas Special... After 'Quitting TV For Good' A Week Ago, Following 'I'm A Celebrity' Ordeal

Gemma Returns To 'TOWIE', A Week After 'Quitting TV For Good'

Less than a week after reportedly “quitting telly for good”, it’s been announced that Gemma Collins is to return to ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ for its annual Christmas special.

Gemma has had a hellish month, pulling out of ‘I’m A Celebrity’ after three days, claiming she “loved herself too much” to put herself through the ordeal of staying in the jungle.

However, despite claiming that ‘I’m A Celeb’ had “put her off TV” for life, she’s apparently had a change of heart, and will be reclaiming her spot on the throne of Essex in ‘The Only Way Is Essexmas’ this festive season.

The official ‘TOWIE’ Twitter page has confirmed that GC would be appearing in the special episode, tweeting a photo on Thursday that showed her next to fellow cast members Bobby Norris and Chloe Sims.

Let’s hope it was a smoother journey than her helicopter ride into the jungle… or, at the very least, that she’s invested in some waterproof mascara ahead of her TV comeback.

Gemma had claimed that she quit ‘I’m A Celeb’ because the intense scrutiny of the jungle had made her realise she was playing a character rather than being herself, admitting: “I’m so out of my comfort zone that it’s made me realise the girl I once was. I have become a character, a puppet of Gemma that is not the real me.”

She had initially claimed she wouldn't be able to appear in the hour-long 'TOWIE' Christmas special... but that was probably when she thought she'd be in the jungle for longer than 72 hours.
